Contest now closed--please watch for next year's dates
Science isn't just found in the laboratory and classroom. It can also exist in art and photographs. What inspires you in a farm landscape, in a wetland or forest, in a plant you’re studying or a soil you’ve just unearthed? Photos can also do a great job communicating science! Display your vision by entering the Annual Photo Contest.
Winning photos will be published in CSA News, and all submissions could be used for CSA News, Crops & Soils, websites, social media, and education purposes.
The themes for the photo contest, and the first round of judging, are based on each Society’s tag lines:
ASA: Agronomy Feeds the World
CSSA: Plant Science for a Better World
SSSA: Soils Sustain Life
Enter by September 15, 2017! All members are eligible, including undergraduate and graduate students.
Prizes: Each Society will choose a first, second, and third place winners. Prizes are:
- First Place: $250
- Second Place: $100
- Third Place: $50
1) Is there a limit on how many photos a member can submit? Up to 4, but only members can submit (non-member lab staff, etc., are not included).
2) Is there a limit on how old the picture is? For example, can the photo have been taken a couple years ago? No age limit! If it portrays the Society tag line (above), it’ll be a good entry!!
3) Must the member be present at the Annual Meeting if submitting a photo or winning the contest? No, but we'd love to see you in Tampa anyway!
